In this highly educational ad by the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), the audience is shown a vast field scattered with various inventions that have changed the course of human history; however, one of these inventions remains the single most significant achievement: the invention of the lightbulb. Despite the radical changes and endless benefits this invention has brought to humankind, our ceaseless pursuit of an endless supply of energy has cost us our planet. The audience is then shown a series of heartbreaking images of the pollution and damage wrought on Earth due to our pursuit of non-renewable energy. But this is all about to change: NBE has incorporated clean energy into its strategy and plans to fund climate change-related projects in order to help Egypt achieve its 2035 goal of clean energy comprising 42% of the country’s total energy.
